Harp Lessons

Harp lessons for ages 5 and up.

 

Jan loves teaching the harp and uses her engaging personality and interactive style to create an enjoyable learning experience.  Lessons are personalized to reflect individual preferences and goals. 

 

No harp.  No problem!  There are rental harps available to get you started.

​

Lessons can be facilitated in your home or at Jan's studio in North West Calgary (South of Stoney Trail &

West of Shaganappi Trail, NW).

​

Jan was recently acknowledged by the Royal Conservatory for her Grade 4 harp student receiving the Gold Medal (highest mark in AB).

"When I turned 80 I decided I needed to find a new challenge. I had always loved harp music so that was what I chose to try. Luckily I found a teacher, Jan Pearce, who not only taught the basics of the harp, but kept me going when I got discouraged! I was frustrated with the level of my playing and almost decided to call it a day.

 

When I told Jan that, she didn’t react except to ask ”Is that written in stone?" Of course it wasn’t and she was quick to suggest ways that would keep up my interest without such high expectations of myself. As a result, I am still going and finding much pleasure in playing. I got brave enough to ask a local Celtic group if I could practice with them and also have registered for harp camp this year. Thanks, Jan!"
